Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen or similar role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to effectively supervise and motivate kitchen staff
• Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, and organizational standards

Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience in family-style or large-capacity restaurants
• Comfort managing banquet or outdoor service settings
• Knowledge of current culinary trends and menu development

Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations for a restaurant
• Lead, train, and mentor a diverse culinary team to consistently deliver quality meals
• Ensure food preparation and presentation meet the restaurant's high standards
• Collaborate in menu planning, ordering, and inventory control
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
• Contribute to a positive, guest-focused team culture
