This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Quality Control Engineer. This position is located at our Fall River, MA site. This role will manage customer quality initiatives, field data analysis and drive activities to improve our quality level in the field and will act as the problem-solving lead, using Quality Emergency Work Orders (QEWO) and other tools for it to solve root causes.

$31.05 an hour
Your responsibilities will include
Countermeasures effectiveness tracking
Standards creation correlating design-customer-manufacturing capabilities and requirements. Deploy with the internal team.
Create, improve, and implement the processes and controls to ensure the Quality level of our products and processes.
Standard and criteria creation/update/deployment and training
Proper communication of issues with the manufacturing team.
Leadership, deployment, control, and implementation on actions plans for the plant Quality KPIs improvement
Problem-solving execution and deployment in assigned areas
Corrective actions follow up and validation
Create, approve, and update control plans, active participation on Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA-WI) and any tool required for our manufacturing.
Design changes evaluation with cross functional teams.
Non-conformance material evaluation and disposition.
Product Hold trigger and release, in plant and in warehouses
Develop poka-yokes and error proof systems for assigned processes
Inspectors team managing and coordination
Testing Systems, active team member or leading
Identify the proper characteristics to test in our products/components and develop the best methods for it.
Online and Offline testing strategy for assigned areas
Fixtures development, quote, approval with internal and external
Measurement System Analysis / Evaluation management
Direct participation on World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Quality Control (QC) Pillar as QC team member.
Quality Assurance (QA) matrix creation, update, deployment and follow up
WCM Kaizen lead and support for Quality
Kaizens integration and benefit tracking
Tools deployment, update, and support to owners Occurrence and Release (O&R) and QA network
Product audits scheduling, lead and actions follow up
Support on Layer Process Audits execution
Generate system improvements in the allocated area
Lead projects and coordinate execution

Minimum requirements
Pursuing a bachelor's degree
1+years of experience working in a Manufacturing or Quality Environment

Preferred skills and experiences
Degree in Quality or Engineering
Six Sigma Green belt
WCM Methodology knowledge, Quality Control Pillar
Experience with testing equipment and testing procedures, usage and/or design
Strong data acquisition, analysis, and knowledge building skills
Problem Solving skills
Knowledge and exposure to manufacturing processes
Strong communication skills
Sense of urgency and highly creative.
Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
