Job Description: Portuguese Enrichment - Teach Portuguese Language and Culture.

Reports To: Falmouth Community School Coordinator

Title: Portuguese Teacher

2-10 hours per week (after school hours)

1-4 hours per week (evening adult classes)

Position Summary: Share the Portuguese Language and Culture with students K - 6th grade at Mullen Hall, Teaticket, E. Falmouth, North Falmouth and Morse Pond). Offer adult classes in the evenings.

Qualifications:

* Minimum: Speak Portuguese and English.

* Experience working with children.

* Strong organizational skills.

* Ability to develop strong working relationships with students.

* Ability to be independent and be a team member.

Responsibilities:

* Plan a variety of early learning and activities for children who want to learn the Portuguese language.

* Exhibit strong leadership skills and feel comfortable leading activities in front of a group.

* Set up, prepare supplies, facilitate, and clean up after the session is over.

* Be organized and prepared for each weekly lesson plans.

* Provide and collect sign-in sheets of all participants and send them weekly to the coordinator along with playgroup facilitator time sheets.

* Communicate with families in a positive nonjudgmental manner.

* Model reading, facilitate conversation, and promote developmentally appropriate play activities for children in the Portuguese language.

* Provide skills in both working collaboratively and independently.

* Maintain attendance and other forms.

* Performs other duties as assigned by the coordinator.

Salary and Terms of Employment: TBD per hour, part-time hours.
