Tech Support Engineer -- AUV Customer Support EngineerJob Code: TSP3Job Location: Fall River, MAJob Description:The position of AUV Customer Support Engineer has the responsibility of interfacing with customers (phone, email, in-person), troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing which includes wiring of electro/mechanical sub-assemblies, major assemblies and full systems of currently fielded IVER AUVs/UUVs through RMAs.Position will also require sufficient hands-on support for launching and recovering UUVs from near shore and from vessels, post-mission analysis and interfacing with existing IVER AUV operators, including active participation in field exercises, operator training and coordinating ongoing technical support.Essential Functions:Interface with customers on behalf of L3Harris AUV Systems/OceanServer for troubleshooting, payload diagnostics and vehicle behavior validation.Perform complex operations of diagnosing and repairing of current and legacy fielded hardware/software/firmware.Work from drawings, manufacturing procedures, schematics and verbal instructions.Install software, including proprietary device drivers, Windows Operating systems, and configure for test executing.Perform Factory/Government Acceptance Testing (FAT/GAT) with clear documentation of AUV/UUV vehicle's performance after completed repair.Assists engineering with bench & field testing of current and new AUV/UUV payloads and behaviors development.Assists production with bench & field testing of production AUV/UUV.Interfaces with management, engineering and fellow support/field associates.Give feedback on best practices for improved diagnostic and repair turn-around times.Performs simple to complex rework, assemble complex assemblies, and have excellent soldering & crimping techniques. Assist in integration and testing of new AUV/UUV payloadsProvide input and recommendations for Internal Research and Development (IRAD) priorities and support business growth by researching and responding to customer solicitations.Provide operator level maintenance and rudimentary hardware tech support for IVER AUV/UUV's at customer siteQualifications:Requires proficient knowledge of job area. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
