The Dining Services Director will work in a hospitality model kitchen, cooking, serving, and interacting with residents of our assisted living care facility. If you are an experienced culinary professional passionate about engaging with people and seeking a company that emphasizes a strong work-life balance, this is an ideal opportunity for you!

While the role includes management duties, it is not purely administrative. The individual is expected to be hands-on, assisting with food preparation and service for at least 2 shifts per week. Additionally, the person should become integrated into the Benchmark community, engaging with residents and their families, and acting as a liaison when necessary.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of food service professionals and ensure the preparation of quality meals for residents, along with completing daily administrative reports.
  2. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, as well as Benchmark's policies and procedures.
  3. Report all accidents and incidents to the Executive Director.
  4. Follow planned menus in accordance with dietary guidelines and maintain proper records.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of all work areas.
  6. Inspect food storage, utility, janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep, supplies, and infection control.
  7. Review temperature logs for freezers, refrigerators, and other equipment to ensure proper temperatures.
  8. Address resident concerns or service issues promptly.
  9. Manage department budget and maintain financial records and cost reports.
  10. Conduct monthly food advisory board meetings with residents, including recording minutes.

Requirements

  1. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  2. Knowledge of dietary procedures and Health Department regulations for food service.
  3. Ability to serve food and beverages efficiently to residents.
  4. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  5. Position primarily involves standing for extended periods.
