We are searching for a Solar & Storage Arc Flash Analyst (Sr Electrical Engineer) on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2). The candidate will join the Power Generation Division (PGD). The Senior Engineer will apply diversified engineering knowledge to a broad range of assignments related to solar power generation and battery energy storage. The role requires independent decision-making regarding engineering issues, with supervision only on high-level objectives and critical issues.

Employees in this role are responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments, including exploring subject areas, defining scope, investigating, and developing novel concepts.

Primary responsibilities include:

1. Modeling and analysis of solar and battery sites using ETAP software, performing AC and DC system arc flash studies, and reviewing externally performed studies.
2. Ensuring consistent application of arc flash study standards and improving standards as industry knowledge advances.

Additional responsibilities may include:

1. Leading root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar and battery sites and assisting field technicians with troubleshooting inverter and other issues.
2. Supporting development of countermeasures for recurring issues.
3. Responding to regulatory data requests.
4. Supporting component failure rate analysis and developing replacement and work plans.
5. Planning and developing engineering projects with significant impact on major company programs.
6. Acting as technical liaison within and outside the organization, making independent technical decisions.
7. Completing assignments with broad objectives and limitations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in solar energy.
• Experience with electrical system modeling software (PSSE, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, etc.).

Desired qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced ETAP modeling skills.
• 5 years' experience with arc flash modeling.
