Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day responsibilities of the Deposit Operations team, ensuring all department functions are executed to the Bank's customer service and regulatory standards.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversees the daily quality control reviews and monitoring using industry standard and regulatory guidance sampling methods to ensure the Bank's compliance efforts are maintained for cards, wires, ACH, Return Deposit items, online banking and other related services.
- Monitors month end reports for ODP/Card/Account activities for reasonableness and addresses any discrepancies or concerns.
- Responsible for conducting regular check-in meetings with the team, completing performance reviews, coordinating the in-office schedule, resolving departmental issues and addressing performance concerns.
- Manages and delegates the department workflow including:
- Core, EFT Processor and iBanking system generated reports (i.e. exception reports, card delink).
- Internal and External customer inquiries, messages & support.
- Returned check, inclearing check, and/or ACH reconciliation.
- Check adjustments.
- Research.
- Proof of deposit.
- Wire transfers.
- Oversees the Bank's Zelle program which includes monitoring monthly reporting, disputes and consumer complaints.
- Monitors the monthly Fiserv and Consumer Complaint logs for any department related complaints to ensure proper resolution, identify trends, address potential vendor related issues and identify internal training opportunities.
- Review and responds as necessary to QC reports.
- Works to identify process and service improvement opportunities to enhance efficiencies at the department, branch and Bank level.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new products and services; works to create internal department policies and procedures to support these changes.
- Helps to resolve complex customer issues as needed.
- Participates in the monthly Compliance Committee meetings.
- Participates in scheduled vendor calls to discuss ongoing issues and upcoming enhancements.
- Reviews and approves COCC and Fiserv invoices as applicable.
- Acts as point person for auditors and examiners and fulfills requests for information/documentation as needed.
- Stays up to date on changes in applicable Federal, State and government regulations and security procedures to ensure department compliance.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of bank deposit operations experience required.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of supervisory/management experience required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong core banking systems knowledge, specifically with COCC is highly preferred.
- Prior administration experience with Zelle highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, managerial and project management skills.
- Superior knowledge of general banking operations functions, systems, policies, and procedures.
Physical Demands
This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one's workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there are instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.
